Chamel Saba Audit and Assurance Director

Chamel is an Audit and Assurance Director at Forvis Mazars in Lebanon, with over 20 years of experience across financial services, the NGO sector and general industry. He leads audit engagements for some of the country's largest institutions, and his portfolio includes major banks, financial institutions and corporations in Lebanon.

Over his career he has performed audit, due diligence, valuation and taxation assignments for large Lebanese companies. His engagement experience spans statutory and group audits under IFRS, agreed-upon procedures and special-purpose reporting, and donor-funded audits for international NGOs and development organisations operating in the country.

As Director, Chamel carries overall responsibility for engagement delivery: audit strategy and risk assessment, direction of multidisciplinary teams, technical review of complex accounting judgements, and the relationships with management, audit committees and boards that sit around them. His credentials as a Certified Internal Auditor and in Risk Management Assurance bring a governance, internal control and risk perspective to that work, and he advises clients on the design and effectiveness of their control environments alongside the statutory audit.

Alongside client service, he contributes to the firm's audit quality and methodology agenda and to the development of its people, mentoring colleagues through professional qualification and into engagement leadership.

Chamel is a member of the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA) and holds an MBA, the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation and the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
