Gerard Lategan Director - Accounting & Independent Review

Gerard joined Forvis Mazars in 2001 and was appointed as a Director in the audit department in 2014.
Experience
Gerard joined Forvis Mazars in 2001 and completed his B Com degree in 2006.
Gerard specialises in, but is not limited to, audits of larger private groups, as well as large owner, managed businesses. He has experience in the audits of listed companies and subsidiaries of listed companies where reporting to other group auditors is required.
His responsibilities include, liaising with clients, managing the audit team, provide training to staff and performance feedback, reviewing of audit files and ensuring deadlines are met.
Gerard currently manages the compilation of annual financial statements for non-audited clients prepared in terms of Sec 90(2) of the Companies Act.
He has experience in the following sector/industries:

- Restaurants
His wide range of experience in providing accounting, taxation, company secretarial and audit services to owner managed businesses has proven to be of great assistance for clients he attends to.
On a more informal basis, Gerard was a member of the Social Committee responsible for arranging of the firm's social events.
He has also been assisting Forvis Mazars’ Recruitment Committee with the recruitment process of new trainees along with the Vacation Work Programme Committee who in turn is responsible for establishing a formalised vacation programme aimed at university students wanting to do articles.
