Senior Compliance Officer (AML/CFT)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support AML/CFT compliance activities, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Conduct and oversee KYC and onboarding reviews, including enhanced due diligence for high-risk clients
- Develop and maintain robust client risk assessments, including Business Risk
Assessments (BRA) and Customer Risk Assessments (CRA) - Perform and review transaction monitoring, investigations, and suspicious activity reporting
- Provide guidance on risk-based approach (RBA) methodologies and ensure effective
implementation - Assist in regulatory reporting and liaise with regulators where required
- Support internal audits, compliance testing, and remediation exercises
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance frameworks and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in AML/CFT, compliance, or financial crime within the financial services sector
- Solid experience in KYC, onboarding, client due diligence, and transaction monitoring
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, including BRA and CRA
methodologies - Experience acting as or supporting an approved Compliance Officer (CO), MLRO, or DMLRO will be a strong advantage
- ACAMS or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable
- Degree in Law (LLB) or a related field; additional AML/CFT certifications would be beneficial
