Decree 1493 of December 13, 2024

By means of this Decree the National Government provides for the readjustment of the absolute tax on automobiles for fiscal year 2025, pursuant to Article 145 of Law No. 488 of 1998.

The provision establishes that the total amount of the tax rates applicable as from January 1, 2025, is as follows:

For private automobiles:

- Up to $55,679,000: 1.5%.

- Over $55,679,000 and up to $125,274,000: 2.5%.

- More than $125,274,000: 3.5%.

The regulation also states that, as of its enactment, it repeals all provisions to the contrary, particularly Decree 2228 of 2023, which set the base values for the year 2024.
