Current Position

Charl joined Forvis Mazars in 2012 and is a Director in the Tax Consulting department of Forvis Mazars in Cape Town. Charl leads the transfer pricing service line in South Africa.

Experience

Charl completed his BCom (Accounting) degree with the University of Johannesburg in 2009.  He proceeded to complete his Accounting Hons (Specialising in Taxation) in 2010, also with the University of Johannesburg.

Charl proceeded to complete his Masters in Taxation with the University of Pretoria in 2014 and in 2015 completed an Advanced Diploma in Transfer Pricing with the International Institute of Tax and Finance. 

His background in tax compliance services provided him with the skills to assist clients in Dispute Resolution matters with SARS.  He frequently advises on Tax Administration Act and is involved in complex dispute and tax administrative matters for all tax types.

Charl advises both individuals and companies on a wide variety of Income Tax related matters, both from a technical and an administrative compliance point of view. 

In 2016 Charl spent six months in the Mazars UK offices on a transfer pricing secondment and is now a key player in the expansion of the transfer pricing services of Forvis Mazars in South Africa and globally. Charl plays a further key role in the Forvis Mazars global transfer pricing community as part of the Global Forvis Mazars Transfer Pricing Steering Committee where he leads the portfolio for Africa.   

Charl specialises in International Taxation and Transfer Pricing. Charl has been consulting to various clients in different industries on all areas of transfer pricing (including Country-by-Country Reporting and Pillar II), related international tax and South African Tax Administration matters for over 15 years.
