Ovais has over 22 years of leadership experience in assurance, IT audit, consulting and financial accounting and advisory services, He serves as Partner at Forvis Mazars in Qatar since 2019. He oversees a portfolio of over 300 clients and leading a team of 40 professionals. He is actively involved in client relationship management, business development and delivering high-quality services across assurance and IT audit engagements. He is Certified Financial Consultant, Certified Information System Auditor, Member of Association of Certified Public Accountants, Masters in Economics and Bachelors of Commerce.

Previously, he was a Partner at Grant Thornton Qatar where he served almost 10 years from 2009 till 2018, he led the firm’s operations, membership process with Grant Thornton International and secured membership in 2015, and achieved substantial growth in revenue and client base. His key clients have included major governmental bodies, listed entities, and prominent business groups in Qatar. He started his career with one of the big4 firm in Pakistan where he served for almost 7 years.

He is known for his strategic mindset, effective leadership, and commitment to developing talent—having trained and counsel several professionals now working in top-tier firms and organizations across Qatar and around the globe. His expertise spans IFRS, ISA, COSO framework, Global Internal Audit Standards and IT audit.
