Griffin Breda Director - Financial Services Consulting

Breda is a Director in our financial services division. She leads prudential regulation and risk management services, collaborating with banks and investment firms to ensure regulatory compliance and embed effective risk management practices.

Experience 

Breda joined Forvis Mazars in 2021 and has over 25 years experience. Most recently she has 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, specialising in risk management frameworks. She has also led the production of ICARA, ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plans, Resolution Packs, and Pillar 3 disclosures for various banks and investment firms.

Prior to joining the firm, Breda developed enterprise-wide risk management processes in banking ensuring regulatory compliance. She also created and developed the banks's key risk indicators, reporting, and dashboards for market, liquidity, operational, credit, and regulatory risks. Breda obtained a diploma in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management.

Additionally, Breda has over 12 years of experience in the wholesale commodities markets, where she held roles such as Intraday Trader and Power Trader in London and Paris for international trading companies.

Breda has built a high-performing risk management department from the ground up, leading a successful team. She delivered impactful training to teams, EXCO, and the Board, significantly enhancing their understanding of risk management. Breda continues to drive firms towards excellence by embedding robust risk management frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive risk culture. Her leadership and expertise have been instrumental in transforming risk management practices across the organisations she supports.

She has also led the development of trading desks, focusing on new initiatives to enhance efficiencies in the power market across Europe and Eastern Europe, aligning with the firm’s risk strategy and appetite. Her extensive expertise ensures robust risk management and regulatory compliance for our clients.
