Advance Notice: Statutory Pay Transparency Amendment Imminent
Statutory Pay Transparency Amendment Imminent
The legislative amendment currently in preparation is intended to transpose the EU requirements of the Pay Transparency Directive into national law by 7 June 2026.
The objective of pay transparency is to reduce gender-based pay disparities and to strengthen the enforcement of the principle of “equal pay for equal work or work of equal value.”
The core elements of the forthcoming GlBG amendment are expected to include extensive transparency obligations for employers. These will, in particular, comprise:
- Information rights of employees concerning individual and average remuneration levels, as well as mandatory disclosure of starting salaries already during the recruitment process, and
- Reporting obligations for companies employing at least 100 employees.
In addition, measures aimed at the evaluation and comparability of job positions are planned, with the objective of making structural pay differences visible.
