Immediately following the Finance Minister’s budget speech, the government bill for the Budget Accompanying Act 2027–2028 (Budgetbegleitgesetz 2027–2028) was published. The key payroll-related measures are summarised below:
The EU Pay Transparency Directive (Directive (EU) 2023/970) introduces measures to strengthen the principle of “equal pay for equal work or work of equal value between men and women.” Its objective is to reduce existing gender-based pay disparities, primarily through enhanced pay transparency and easier enforcement of legal rights.
Earlier than in most years, the wage garnishment thresholds for the coming year are already available. According to the government bill for the Budget Accompanying Act 2027–2028, the minimum pension (Ausgleichszulagenrichtsatz for single persons) will increase by 3.3% with effect from 1 January 2027. Applying the factor of 1.033 results in an Ausgleichszulagenrichtsatz of EUR 1,351.57 for 2027.
