Dr. Julie Laulusa Invited to Speak at Business France’s 2025 “Choose France” Investment Seminar in Shanghai
Organised by Business France, the seminar brought together senior officials from French government investment authorities as well as investment experts from both China and France. The event provided a comprehensive overview of France’s competitive advantages as Europe’s leading destination for international investment, as well as a hub of innovation and industrial excellence. It also highlighted the various incentive schemes and support policies introduced by France to attract foreign investors.
The seminar welcomed around 100 senior executives and decision-makers from Chinese enterprises, who engaged in in-depth discussions with French government representatives and investment experts.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Pascal Gondrand, Director of Business France China and Trade & Investment Counsellor, followed by a presentation on France’s overall investment attractiveness by Mr. Jérôme Coustans, Investment Counsellor at Business France.
The seminar was further honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Nicolas Forissier, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness under the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs; Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, Ambassador of France to China; Mr. Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai; Mr. Christian Gianella, Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the French Embassy in China; Mr. Xavier Chatte-Roule, Trade & Investment Counsellor at Business France; Mr. Rémi Paul, Chairman of CCI France Chine; and Ms. Caroline Penard, General Manager of CCI France Chine.
As a seasoned expert on investment in France, Dr. Laulusa delivered a keynote speech entitled “Key Tax and Financial Considerations for Investing in France.” Her presentation provided an in-depth analysis of the major tax and financial issues Chinese enterprises should consider when investing in France, complemented by practical case studies and Forvis Mazars’ extensive experience in supporting Chinese investments in France and across Europe.
The seminar concluded with a panel discussion on the consumer sector and technological innovation, during which representatives of Chinese companies investing in France—particularly from consumer goods and intelligent manufacturing sectors—exchanged views with French investment experts on France’s industrial strengths, business environment, technological innovation, and smart manufacturing.
