2025 Global China Services Seminar Successfully Held

From September 10 to 11, 2025, the Forvis Mazars Global China Services (GCS) Annual Conference was successfully held in Shanghai, China. Over 30 partners and experts from 12 countries across the Forvis Mazars network, together with the partners from the ZSZH-Mazars International Alliance, gathered for in-depth exchanges, group discussions, and collaborative workshops. The seminar explored new trends and emerging needs of Chinese enterprises going global. It not only offered the GCS team valuable insights into China’s market environment and client expectations, but also strengthened trust and collaboration among global teams, laying a solid foundation for high-quality and sustainable development in the next decade.

 

Opening Remarks

The seminar opened with remarks from Dr. Julie Laulusa, Managing Partner of Forvis Mazars in China and Head of Global China Services, followed by Mr. Shi Wenxian, Chief Partner of Zhongshen Zhonghuan. Dr. Laulusa noted that this was the 8th GCS Annual Conference since its establishment and the first to return to its “birthplace” Shanghai, making it especially meaningful. She thanked global GCS colleagues for coming together in Shanghai to exchange ideas and wisdom, enabling the team to better serve Chinese clients’ international growth amid a rapidly evolving global economy. She also expressed appreciation for the participation of partners from ZSZH–Mazars International Alliance and the strong support from the Shanghai Pudong Service Center for Overseas Investment and the Lujiazui International Accounting Center.

Macro Perspectives and Forward-Looking Insights

Dr. Laulusa shared insights from her over 20 years of experience in the Chinese market, reviewing the development of “Innovative China” and analyzing major economic and social changes. Mr. Shi Wenxian delivered a keynote on the latest developments in China’s accounting industry, highlighting trends in digitalization, internationalization, and innovative practices. Meanwhile, GCS conducted a pre-meeting survey on the satisfaction and strategic priorities of Chinese “going-global” enterprises, which drew wide attention and was further explored in workshops on how to better meet clients’ core expectations. 

The seminar also featured external experts offering forward-looking perspectives: Mr. Zhang Puling, General Manager of Settlement and Cash Management at ICBC Shanghai Branch, introduced the latest developments and services of ICBC’s Global Smart Treasury solution ; Ms. Li Tianyi, Senior Researcher at  ICBC UBS Asset Management, analyzed China’s economic situation and future trends from a macroeconomic and capital market perspective, providing important reference for attendees; and Mr. Xavier Chatte-Ruols, Commercial Counsellor at the Consulate General of France in Shanghai and Deputy Director of Business France in China, together with Ms. Han Zhiyun, Investment Director, delivered a speech titled “France’s Attractiveness to Chinese Investment”, combining policy insights and case studies to explain the advantages and opportunities for Chinese investment in France.

International Collaboration and Experience Sharing

The conference also featured discussions on strengthening cooperation within the ZSZH–Mazars International Alliance and collaboration and operations among GCS teams worldwide. The Japan and Germany GCS teams were specially invited to share local experiences and client feedback, encouraging mutual learning and inspiration across countries.
