Maarten began his career at BDO in 1999, after completing his degree in Business Economics at the University of Groningen. Since then, he has grown into a partner and held final responsibility for the Corporate Finance team. Outside of work, Maarten draws energy from his family life with three teenagers and his passion for sports, including tennis, cycling, and skiing. As of 1 September 2025, he joins the Financial advisory team at Forvis Mazars. With over 26 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and financing processes for mid-sized companies, he brings deep financial expertise combined with a collaborative leadership style. In 2024, Maarten was named M&A Advisor of the Year at the Brookz M&A Awards. He also serves as a board member - and from 2025 as chair - of the Dutch Corporate Finance Association, and lectures at the Dutch Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (NVP).
The Financial advisory team at Forvis Mazars supports businesses during critical transaction moments, such as M&A, due diligence, complex valuation issues, and restructurings. In the Netherlands, the team consists of approximately 40 experienced professionals. Globally, this service line accounts for 8% of Forvis Mazars’ total revenue.
Maarten van Dijk’s appointment contributes to the further strengthening of the Financial advisory team in the Netherlands. This step aligns with the ambition to grow the team by more than 50% over the next four years. In addition to advising business owners and larger companies, Forvis Mazars places a strong focus on supporting private equity firms.
