Tax captured Karen’s passion at university and continues to fascinate her because it blends laws, numbers, and strategy. Whether assisting individuals, small businesses, or multinationals, her work delivers real-world impact beyond theory.
Her advice for young CPAs? Build a quality-first mindset that combines technical skill, analytical thinking, clear communication, and unwavering integrity. As tax rules evolve globally and locally, critical thinking and ethical professionalism are key to becoming a trusted advisor.
Currently, navigating BEPS 2.0 regulations and Hong Kong’s tax updates like patent box incentives and family office concessions take most of Karen’s focus. She stresses the importance of staying current with both local and global tax developments.
“Teamwork, quality and integrity are the three most important things in my career. I always strive to build a team that our clients can trust and rely on for quality advice," Karen said.
