Not enough to be… a woman

Mazars, the Institute for Strategic Studies Foundation and French Institute in Cracow in cooperation with Goethe Institute and Italian Cultural Institute ("EUNIC" Kraków Cluster) are pleased to invite you to an international conference “Not enough to be… a woman” which will be held on 1 March 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Cracow in the International Cultural Centre, Rynek Główny 25.

A few days before 8th March – traditionally celebrated as International Women’s Day – the invited guests, eminent personalities of the world of politics, economy and culture both from Poland and from abroad, will think how to increase the participation and role of women in the political, economic and cultural life both inside and outside Europe.

The conference will consist of three panel discussions concerning each of the topics.

The first panel will seek an answer to a question what can be done so that the participation of women in politics will not be enhanced by parity but will be a natural and realistic reflection of their role in political life.

The second panel discussion will focus on the question how to strengthen the role of women in business and economic life without them facing a glass ceiling.

Lastly, the third panel will concentrate on women’s active participation in culture and social life.

The aim of the common debate is to come to conclusions that will contribute to the improvement of women’s role in every aspect of social, economic and cultural life.

One of the highlights of the Conference will be a book raffle with “A women’s world, a better world” books to win. Its author, Muriel de Saint Sauveur, Director for Diversity at Mazars Group will participate in the debate “How to promote women’s participation in the economic life?”.

A simultaneous interpretation into Polish, English and French will be provided.
