Mazars appoints three new partners in Poland

We have the pleasure to inform you that Mazars, in connection with its dynamic development, has appointed three new Partners in Poland: Jarosław Bochenek, Kinga Baran and Małgorzata Pek.

Jarosław Bochenek has been promoted from the position of local Partner. He is also a member of the Management Board of Mazars Audyt Sp. z o. o.  and head of the Mazars office in Cracow. Kinga Baran has been the director of tax advisory department until now.

The group of international partners of the Mazars Group was also extended by Małgorzata Pek, who joined Mazars in Poland at the beginning of December 2019 to develop services for banks and financial institutions. She was previously a Partner in the audit department of Deloitte.

Jarosław Bochenek is a statutory auditor and member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). He has several years of experience in auditing financial statements, accounting and finance and advisory services to the companies from different economic sectors acquired with Mazars as well as with a “Big Four” company in Poland and abroad. He is a graduate of Management Faculty at Cracow Academy of Economics. He completed his postgraduate studies in accounting and finance at Bristol Business School (UK) and he obtained an MBA diploma of the University of Bristol and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (France). He joined Mazars in 2008 as head of Cracow office. He became member of the Management Board of Mazars Audyt Sp. z o.o. shortly afterwards and in 2018 he was appointed as Local Partner in Mazars Poland.

Kinga Baran is a lawyer, a licensed tax advisor and an acknowledged expert in the field of Value Added Tax and of the Corporate Income Tax. She participated in preparing and verifying expertises and opinions related to the tax law, including for the Polish Sejm. She supervised redaction of pleadings for clients in litigation with the tax authorities. She took part in tax audits of the biggest commercial companies on the Polish market.  Speaker at numerous tax conferences and trainings. Author and co-author of books and publications in the field of tax law. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw.

Małgorzata Pek is a statutory auditor and member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). Before joining Mazars, she had been working as an associate partner in one of the “Big Four” firms, where she was responsible for audit, assurance and advisory services for financial institutions. Her portfolio of clients included the biggest banks operating in Poland.

Małgorzata has over ten years of experience in auditing financial statements of institutions from the financial sector. She also has extensive experience in conducting advisory and implementation projects in the area of risk management, reporting and finance, including experience in implementing solutions in banks' IT systems, implementation of advisory and implementation projects in the area of IFRS and financial risk management, with particular emphasis on credit risk and implementing methodological and IT solutions in the area of financial accounting and external reporting. Małgorzata graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Finances and Banking of the University of Gdańsk.
