Forvis Mazars for Good Challenge 2025
As professionals, we constantly push the limits of knowledge, of capabilities, expanding into new areas of growth with each day. While also true believers in the power of equilibrium, we learnt that sustainable evolution is only possible when we treat wellbeing as a priority. Thus, Forvis Mazars for Good Challenge came to life as a powerful reminder to keep working continuously towards reaching and maintaining that precious balance.
The challenge we extended to all of our colleagues was clear, straightforward: for the whole month of June, engage in as many sporting activities as possible, and track your progress! Each unit of progress will bring you closer to winning the challenge and whether a pro or just a beginner, everyone’s efforts count towards our end goal!
All units of progress registered within the challenge are then transformed into real impact, as the total amount is matched to a donation towards one of our partner NGOs. In this way, we understand that our ability to do good extends its traditional boundaries, as we are reminded that in order to help anyone else, we need to fill our own cup first, that leading by example is not just an inspirational phrase, but a reality to live by.
The regional aspect of it made it the more motivational, as 10 countries across the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe took part in the challenge, with 190 participants collectively registering over 420 hours of sporting activities and covering 18,934 kilometers.
Forvis Mazars for Good will be back the same time next year, and until then, let’s hear it from the people at the center of the action, as some of our colleagues generously gave us an insight into their own journey and experience within the initiative!
I was never passionate about running, on the contrary, it was something I used to avoid. I participated in the Bucharest running events where the company encouraged us to get involved, only to be alongside my team and for the good energy of the group.
Instead, I always had a passion for hiking, especially in lesser-known or harder-to-reach areas. This is how I slowly discovered trail running, which later became a constant in my life, offering me a perfect balance between the physical challenge (the need to constantly evolve) and the connection with the mountain landscape.
Sport became a routine that I can’t let go of, it’s my source of adrenaline and mental equilibrium. It keeps me in shape, constantly pushing me to get out and train and it is the best antidote for stress.
I’ve been participating in the Forvis Mazars for Good Challenge ever since its first edition in 2023. That year, I completed my first ever long-distance race in Italy: 50 km with 2,600 meters of elevation, recently surpassed by an 88 km race with 5,600 meters of elevation in Bucovina. I’m glad to see how, with each year, more and more colleagues join the initiative. I consider this challenge to be an extra source of motivation to stay active and a reminder that sport is, after all, a form of self-care.

The sport has been a part of my life for more than 22 years, as a professional athlete in karate, within the WKF (World Karate Federation) circuit. I’m a multiple national champion, as well as an international medalist, with my passion pushing me now even further, as I started teaching lessons to children, giving back the same values and discipline once taught to me.
Besides karate, I’m also a fitness enthusiast, this being the reason why I obtained my license as an aerobics instructor.
My involvement in the Forvis Mazars for Good Challenge was a unique experience, and I felt amazing to be able to contribute towards a good cause while being a positive example. Furthermore, this initiative brought back my passion for running, rediscovering the joy in the sprint runs.
My advice for anyone who wants to incorporate sport into their life is to start slowly, to choose an activity that brings them joy and to be consistent. Sport is not only a form of movement, but rather a lifestyle that brings equilibrium, energy and confidence within yourself.

For me, Forvis Mazars for Good was more than a challenge, it was my moment to breathe, to reconnect with myself. Thus, I managed to reestablish an equilibrium through the daily chaos. Movement gave me peace, made me feel energized and, in the most beautiful way, made me feel like I am a part of a global community, where we supported each other at every stage.
If I were to offer a piece of advice, I would go as follows: start small, find the activity that makes you smile and let sport be your moment of peace. It’s incredible how good it feels when you do something good for yourself, while helping others at the same time.

To our lovely colleagues, thank you for keeping the tradition alive and for inspiring each and every one of us to challenge ourselves and to understand the importance of equilibrium and self-care. And to all of our readers, remember that all great things will happen when we step outside of our comfort zone and we keep pushing the boundaries on our journey towards reaching our goals.
