[Event Recap] GBA Monthly Business Meeting in August: Insights on Vietnam’s Economic & Investment Outlook

On August 4, Forvis Mazars Vietnam proudly participated in the German Business Association’s (GBA) Monthly Business Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, joining over 70 distinguished guests for an insightful exchange on Vietnam’s shifting macroeconomic landscape and emerging investment opportunities.

Setting the stage for Vietnam’s next growth phase.

The event served as a valuable platform for dialogue and insight-sharing, bringing together voices from across the financial and business community to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping Vietnam’s economic trajectory.

Representing Forvis Mazars Vietnam, Laurent Nguyen, our Partner & Head of Financial Advisory, delivered a compelling presentation on the current state of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in Vietnam. He provided a deep dive into the latest sectoral trends, the key drivers behind deal activity, and the strategic and operational hurdles that investors may encounter in this dynamic market.

In addition, Mr. Quang Huynh, Managing Director & Chief Country Officer, Deutsche Bank Vietnam shared an optimistic outlook for Vietnam’s economy, forecasting GDP growth of 7% in 2025 and 6.2% in 2026. He pointed out that rising imports compared to exports signal a strong rebound in domestic consumption.

The session was further enriched by Mr. Johan Nyvene, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC), emphasized the government’s efforts to strengthen the economy through reforms and deeper global integration. He also highlighted plans to establish an International Financial Center (IFC) in Vietnam, aimed at driving innovation in the financial sector.
