[Recap] Business Dialogue on Government Reform in Vietnam
On August 27, Forvis Mazars Vietnam showcased its expertise and thought leadership at the recent Business Dialogue on Government. Representing Forvis Mazars, Mr. Minh Nguyen, Chairman and Head of Advisory Services, contributed valuable perspectives on administrative procedures reforms as well as Global Minimum Tax (GMT) and import-export regulations.
This Business Dialogue was co-organized by Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV), the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce (CEEC), and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), in collaboration with BeLuxCham Vietnam, EuroCham Vietnam, and the German Business Association (GBA). This collaborative platform brought together government representatives and business leaders to discuss critical topics such as administrative simplification, the transition to e-government, and legal and tax reforms.
Key highlights from the Dialogue
During the dialogue, Mr. Minh Nguyen emphasized the critical ongoing reforms in administrative procedures and the growing role of digital transformation for enterprises. He discussed how these reforms aim to streamline processes and enhance efficiency for businesses operating in the country. Additionally, he provided updates on new tax policies but also mentioned key developments regarding the GMT and Import/Export strategies, which are essential for multinational enterprises navigating compliance in an evolving regulatory environment.
Besides, Dr. Can Van Luc from BIDV provided a detailed analysis of Vietnam’s economic outlook and key emerging trends. He offered a comprehensive overview of the nation's growth trajectory, highlighting the macroeconomic factors and shifts that are shaping the business landscape.
Adding a legal perspective, Dr. Oliver Massmann of Duane Morris Vietnam LLC delved into the legal framework, shedding light on practical updates to regulations and reforms. His insights were crucial for businesses seeking to navigate the evolving legal environment, ensuring they remain compliant and can operate efficiently.
