Jun 2022 - PU letter no longer required for Z Visa application

Effective 6 June 2022, invitation letter (PU) is no longer requested for foreign nationals wishing to come to China for employment.

This announcement applies to:

  • Foreign nationals applying for a work visa (Z), and whose employment in China is approved by the competent authorities
  • Foreign nationals applying for private affairs visa (S), applicable to dependents (spouse and children under 18 years of age)

 

Other visa applications such as business visits (M) still require an invitation letter (PU).

 

Please note that PRC Embassies / Consulates in certain countries have already released official announcements. However, we understand that in other countries the announcement has not yet been released. As such, we recommend contacting the PRC Embassy / Consulate in home or host country to confirm the above information.
