As a team, we have made it a priority to create spaces and contexts where our people can bring their contribution and make a difference. This, of course, starts from the inside of the company, influencing our daily work routines and transcends to the outside, into our community. Together, we work each day to maintain the balance of growing and giving back.
Our focus on education, on concentrating our efforts to ensure that all children have access to a good quality education, especially in rural or vulnerable areas, came as a natural extension of this commitment. We are living in a time when, unfortunately, factors such as socio-economic status or lack of resources heavily influence educational and growth opportunities. In situations like this, we understand that our involvement is no longer optional, but necessary.
On 26 June, more than 120 colleagues travelled to Stoenești, Giurgiu County, for a day dedicated to volunteering and positive change. For this edition of Community Day, we teamed up with our long-term partner NGO, United Way Romania. Our mission was clear: to support the renovation and landscaping of the school yard, transforming it into a modern space, where the young students can reach their full potential.
Working with colleagues across all teams and departments, we repaired the school fence, planted trees and flowers, assembled and painted the wooden gazebo, installed benches and paved the walkways. The space will welcome the students in September, at the start of the new school year, ready to host academic initiatives, extra-curricular activities and many more.
While the heat and the intensity of the activities were not easy on us, one key element kept us going throughout the day: the spirit of community. The school's administrative staff, professors, parents and people of the village were the true drivers of the effort, showing up, checking in, lending a hand, expressing their gratitude. This made us understand how just a day of volunteering can have such a powerful impact not only on the students at the school, but on the entire community.
Just like any other edition of Community Day, the event left us feeling more strongly connected as a team and proud of what we can achieve when working together, united by a common goal.
