Elaine Marie Debono Tax Senior Manager

Elaine joined Forvis Mazars’ Tax Team in Malta in 2014 as a Tax Senior, bringing with her several years of experience from one of the Big Four audit firms. Since then, she has built extensive expertise in supporting clients across a wide range of industries, including insurance, hospitality, retail, services, gaming, and manufacturing.
Elaine specialises in assisting clients with their statutory tax compliance obligations and currently plays an active role in providing tax advisory services to both local and international clients. Her work involves delivering practical, tailored solutions in an increasingly complex fiscal environment.
In addition to her corporate client portfolio, Elaine has developed particular expertise in advising private clients on their tax affairs. She regularly assists high-net-worth individuals and highly qualified persons with their Maltese tax compliance obligations, residency considerations, and structuring matters, ensuring tax-efficient outcomes aligned with applicable legislation. Elaine also has experience advising on fiscal incentives, including schemes administered by Malta Enterprise, supporting clients in accessing and optimising available tax benefits.
Elaine is a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She has also contributed to the academic and professional development of future practitioners, having lectured the Advanced Taxation module for ACCA students, as well as delivering courses forming part of the Tax Compliance Diploma and the Course on Personal Taxation, both organised by the Malta Institute of Taxation.
Elaine is a member of the Direct Tax Committee (Domestic and Compliance Sub-Committee) of the Malta Institute of Taxation, as well as a member of the Direct Taxation Group of the Malta Institute of Accountants, where she actively contributes to the development of tax policy and practice in Malta.
