Forvis Mazars leads fraud awareness initiative
Forvis Mazars in Malta unveiled a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of identifying, preventing and responding to fraud. Launched in support of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) as part of International Fraud Awareness Week – observed between November 16 and 22 – the campaign features a series of educational and information-based initiatives delivered by Forvis Mazars experts.
“We are proud to join the global effort to reduce the incidence of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education,” says Alan Craig, advisory partner at Forvis Mazars.
“Fraud remains a persistent threat to both businesses and individuals. Today, robust internal controls are essential to prevent and detect fraud, yet companies and the public alike face increasingly sophisticated external threats from scammers. Technology has become a powerful enabler, allowing fraudsters to evolve and exploit new vulnerabilities.”
In response, Forvis Mazars in Malta has prepared a series of initiatives that shed light on fraud across all sectors – from corporate and organisational fraud to scams targeting the public. Planned activities include educational sessions in collaboration with local care homes to help the elderly recognise and protect themselves, and awareness talks promoting digital safety among students.
A virtual roundtable was also held where a panel of experts shared insights and guidance to help individuals and businesses identify, prevent and respond effectively to today’s most prevalent and emerging scams.
“Our goal is to empower both individuals and businesses to recognise red flags and act before damage occurs,” Craig says. “This awareness campaign is part of our ongoing commitment to integrity, transparency and community education and we are proud to be contributing to a more fraud-resilient society.”
