Grants and other incentives

There are number of other support measures available to businesses and individuals such as reduced rates on certain income and grants for certain types of investments.

Digitalise your SME

This incentive seeks to assist SMEs through non-repayable Grants to part-finance investment to digitalise their operations, and hence improve their resilience, efficiency, productivity and customer experience by addressing new digital capabilities and digitalised processes such as product and process design and engineering, end-to-end procurement, supply chain/distribution and after sales.

Family Business Grant

In 2024, Malta Enterprise launched the Family Business Grant with the aim to provide support to Maltese family businesses in planning and executing succession strategies, helping ensure continuity across generations. It provides financial assistance for advisory and mediation services. Malta Enterprise shall accept applications until 31st October 2030.

The Start-up Finance Scheme

On the 23 January 2024, Malta Enterprise published a new set of guidelines for The Start-up Finance Scheme, which scheme aims to support Small Start-up Undertakings that demonstrate a viable business concept and show commitment to expand and further develop their economic activity. This measure will be open until 30 September 2026.

The Skills Development Scheme

On the 23 January 2024, Malta Enterprise published a new set of guidelines for The Skills Development Scheme, which aims to encourage businesses to invest in their employees by providing assistance on training to have a knowledge-based workforce. This measure will be open until 30 September 2026.
