Ciara Finnegan, PIE Audit Partner
In this interview, we talk with Ciara Finnegan, who was appointed as audit partner in Forvis Mazars office in the autumn of 2025.
Andrew grew up in Lucan, the youngest of three siblings with an older brother and sister. His biggest inspiration was his father, who worked in the telecommunications industry. “He was an extremely hard-working man who always strived to better himself – something that has certainly rubbed off on me.”
He attended primary and secondary school locally, completing his secondary education at Coláiste Phádraig CBS. Although his favourite subject was engineering, he always had a strong interest in business studies, which ultimately led him to study Business Management at TU Dublin.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Andrew played soccer for his local club in Beech Park for many years before stepping back from playing. He remains an avid Liverpool supporter and makes the trip to Anfield whenever he can.
After completing his degree, Andrew began his career with Financial Services audit team at Forvis Mazars in late 2013. Over the years, he has worked closely with fellow partners Michael Tuohy and Patrick Gorry, from whom he has learned a great deal. “I’ve developed and learned so much from both of them. I’d like to think I’ve picked up some of their strengths along the way.”
Today, Andrew is a Partner in the firm’s Asset Management sector within Financial Services Audit, specialising in audit and assurance services for a broad range of investment management clients. His portfolio includes UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) as well as management companies and fund service providers.
“What I love about my job is having a tangible impact on our clients’ businesses and meeting people – whether it’s clients, industry peers or the next generation of finance professionals. The relationship-building aspect of the role is something I really value.”
Outside of work, Andrew is married to his wife Claire, also a chartered accountant, whom he met as a teenager. Together, they have three young children – Noa, Bobby and Billie. “Life at home can be unpredictable and always keeps me on my toes (a bit like work) – but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
