Emmanuel Thierry began his career at Mazars in 2002 after graduating from Sciences Po Paris with a Master’s degree in Finance and Strategy, and completing studies at the University of Leipzig (Germany). He is a French Chartered Accountant (Commissaire aux Comptes) and a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
After three years in the banking audit practice in Paris, he moved to Mazars New York, where he supported major European corporates in their US expansion, working on the audit of US subsidiaries as well as consulting and M&A-related engagements.
In 2012, Emmanuel joined Mazars Tokyo, where he led both the audit and transaction services practices. He played a key role in the development and expansion of the Tokyo office and was appointed Managing Partner of Mazars in Japan in 2017. Under his leadership, the firm grew from 20 to 200 professionals, significantly expanding its client base, including listed Japanese companies and international groups.
Returning to France in 2022, Emmanuel joined the Sustainability Service Line, where he leads the development and monitoring of the CSRD Task Force at group level, supporting Mazars’ positioning on sustainability reporting across both audit and advisory services. He also acts as a signing partner for financial audits of large corporates, particularly in the banking sector, and leads ESG-related engagements, including NFRD assurance assignments.
With extensive international experience across Europe, the United States, and Asia, Emmanuel supports globally oriented organizations across a wide range of sectors. He works fluently in French, English, and German.
