Malachy Scott Director, Audit & Assurance

Malachy Scott is a director in our financial services  audit & assurance team. He has responsibility for the delivery of services to the firms’ insurance clients and is hugely experienced with both domestic and multinational insurance groups and insurance intermediaries.

From his experience to date, Malachy has developed a strong knowledge and understanding of the core business processes and related key risks and controls relevant to insurance companies.

He is a specialist in the provision of assurance and accounting services to insurers and has a strong knowledge of FRS 102 /103, IFRS and Solvency II. His recent advisory engagements include:

• Assisting an Irish subsidiary of an international group with the adoption of IFRS 17.
• Conducting a review of the processes and controls at a key intermediary on behalf of an international insurer.
• Conducting reviews of Third Party Administrators on behalf of an international insurer.

Malachy is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He holds a Master’s in Strategic Management Accounting from the UCD Smurfit School of Business.
