Pay Transparency in Slovakia: How to Meet New Legal Requirements

On June 7, 2026, a new legislation, Act No. 76/2026 Z.z. on Equal Pay for women and men, will take effect in Slovakia. This legislation implements the European Directive on Pay Transparency (2023/970) into Slovak law and, along with it, introduces significant changes for both employers and applicants.

A joint publication by Humanet and Forvis Mazars in Slovakia combines original research, legal expertise, and technology to help Slovak employers prepare for the law on equal pay for women and men for same work or work of equal value. Using a sample of 129 Slovak companies, we show how to respond to these changes and turn a legal obligation into a competitive advantage.
