Ruprecht Röver, Roever Broenner Susat Mazars name partner, has died

Ruprecht Röver died on 16 October 2015 in Berlin aged 77. He was the last surviving name partner of the Roever Broenner Susat Mazars audit-ing and tax consultancy partnership.

Born on 14 April 1938 in Berlin, Röver embarked on his career in 1965, after studying law in Munich and Berlin, at the auditing and tax consultancy practice founded by his mother, Dr Maria Röver, 70 years ago in post-war Berlin. After qualifying as a tax advisor and auditor he became a partner in 1970 in the Dr Röver Jochmann Wolter and Röver partnership, which was known as RöverBrönner when he left in 2009. Röver had a major impact on the shape that the company took and played a leading role in its further development at the national and international levels.

Focal points of his professional work were, most recently, the execution of large-scale wills, advice on corporate succession, looking after trainees and developing international connections. Röver served as managing director of the Berlin regional office of the Deutsche Schutzvereinigung für Wertpapierbesitz e. V. (German Association for the Protection of Private Investors) and in various functions on behalf of groups of partners in Berlin investment companies. In addition to his professional work he had strong societal commitments. Since 1995 he had been especially committed to Berlin’s Humboldt University, working both for the students and for the institution. For this work he was awarded the German Federal Order of Merit in 2013.
