In recent years, legally compliant digital preservation has become a key tool for document management and archiving in both public and private sectors in Italy.

Governed primarily by the Digital Administration Code (CAD) and AgID technical regulations, it ensures long-term legal validity and accessibility of documents.

However, alongside its many benefits, certain challenges and drawbacks must also be considered.

In order to comply with the mandatory digital storage requirement of e-invoices and optional digital storage of accounting & Vat records and tax returns, the digital preservation is available through our own platform.

Our services

The service includes applying a digital signature and timestamp to the archival package index, as required by law.

It is delivered in partnership with leading Italian providers (Credemtel, Aruba, and Zucchetti). Our eDesk portal manages document archiving, while external providers ensure legal preservation in their certified infrastructures.

Forvis Mazars can also act as the Preservation Manager, a role defined by Italian digital preservation regulations (DPCM December 3, 2013 and subsequent amendments).

This role is essential to ensure compliance with legal requirements for authenticity, integrity, reliability, readability, and accessibility of digital documents.
