A new bill for amendment of the Labour Protection Act

The parliament approved an amendment of the Labour Protection Act on 16 July 2025.
The significant proposed amendments are as follows.

| 1. Maternity leave | 98 days with wages payable for up to 45 days | 120 days with wages payable for up to 60 days |
| 2. Post-partum childcare leavet (severe illness, physical and health impairment, and disability) | Not provided | 15 days with wages payable at no less than 50% of the employee’s regular rate |
| 3. Spousal leave (parent of a child or children) | Not provided | 15 days to be taken within 90 days of the child’s birth with full wages payable for up to 15 days |
The latest bill for amendment of the Labour Protection Act will be proposed to the Senate and the Council of State for consideration respectively before being passed into the law.
