Karen Lau visited the Guangdong Provincial Tax Service Departments
We are delighted to share that Karen Lau, our Head of Tax at Forvis Mazars in Hong Kong, participated in a Chinese New Year visit to the Guangdong Provincial Taxation Bureau of the State Administration of Taxation and the Guangzhou Municipal Taxation Bureau on March 13, together with other representatives of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).
The visits provided a valuable platform for in-depth dialogue between Hong Kong tax professionals and Mainland tax authorities. During the meetings, the leaders of tax authorities and the Hong Kong representatives exchanged insights on tax matters (such as Pillar 2 implementation in Hong Kong, new PRC VAT law) and business concerns. They also discussed the collaboration between Hong Kong and Guangdong tax professionals.
