Forvis Mazars in Hong Kong bolsters Restructuring & Insolvency capabilities with new Partner Anson Li
Anson brings over 20 years of experience in corporate and individual insolvency, receiverships, financial investigations and litigation support, advising boards and senior management and other stakeholders across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and other key jurisdictions on complex distressed and special situations. She has been an appointment taker in Hong Kong and the BVI and has led high-profile mandates, including liquidations, receiverships and insolvency and restructuring-related analyses for listed groups, sizeable private companies, business owners, banks, financial institutions, lenders, law firms and regulatory authorities.
Leveraging her track record across Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Singapore, the Cayman Islands and the BVI, Anson regularly accepts appointments from the High Court of Hong Kong and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the High Court of Justice, Virgin Islands. She is highly experienced in tracing, locating, and securing hidden assets, and in designing and executing enforcement and realisation strategies in distressed situations. Her work frequently involves investigating and litigating potentially fraudulent transactions and payments in liquidation and bankruptcy, as well as conducting independent financial investigations of suspicious payments and irregular transactions.
Anson also advises on solvency and liquidation analysis in legal claims and schemes of arrangement and undertakes financial reviews and valuations in contested divorce proceedings and shareholder disputes. She has also acted as independent accountant or expert in insolvency, forensic accounting and other related capacities.
A Certified Public Accountant and awarded the HKICPA Specialist Designation in Insolvency, Anson is a member of the HKICPA Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty and a management committee member of the HKICPA Forensics Interest Group. She was recognised in Global Restructuring Review’s “Women in Restructuring 2023” and is highly recommended by Lexology (formerly known as Who’s Who Legal) as “Consulting Expert in Restructuring & Insolvency”.
