Gareth is an Indirect Tax Associate Director in the East Midlands, bringing over 22 years of specialist VAT experience. Gareth’s extensive experience enables him to deliver clear, strategic support on complex VAT issues while helping businesses and organisations manage risk and identify opportunities.

Experience 

Gareth has advised clients across a wide range of commercial and public sector environments, providing pragmatic, commercially focused guidance on matters including international VAT, land and property transactions, partial exemption, VAT compliance, corporate restructuring and implementation of structures to mitigate VAT costs and maximise efficiencies.

Work Highlights 

Gareth began his VAT career with HM Customs & Excise, where he obtained his VAT qualifications. Since then, he has built a deep specialism in the Public & Social sector and now leads our Indirect Tax offering in this space. Gareth has extensive experience across a wide range of subsectors, including not‑for‑profit organisations, charities, further education colleges, academies, and housing associations. His sector insight and technical expertise enable him to provide practical, commercially focused VAT advice tailored to the unique challenges faced by public and social sector bodies.
