I'd like to attend

Date

Time

09:00 - 10:30 (with registration from 8:30)

Location

Event agenda

At this session we will explore:

  • Drawing conclusions from controls testing: how boards are monitoring and reviewing their risk management and internal control frameworks and reaching conclusions on the effectiveness of material controls.
  • Responding to deficiencies: how organisations are assessing control deficiencies, monitoring remediation and evaluating their impact on year-end declarations.
  • Building the evidence and assurance: what supports the board’s conclusions, including the respective roles of management, second-line functions, internal audit and external assurance providers.
  • Making and reporting the declaration: approaches to concise, proportionate and meaningful reporting, including practical considerations for cyber security, third-party risk and AI governance.

This will be an interactive forum, providing an opportunity to test your thinking, benchmark your approach and discuss the issues arising in practice with the FRC and peers navigating their first declarations.

Hear from those leading the agenda

Mark will share the regulator’s perspective on the purpose and intent of Provision 29, key themes from the FRC’s recently published guidance and what organisations should consider as they move towards their first declarations.

Drawing on Spirax Group’s experience as a FTSE 100 organisation, Carmen will share practical insights into gathering assurance across the business and building the evidence base to support board reporting and declarations.

Thomas Abraham, Head of Risk and Internal Audit, Oxford Instruments
Thomas will share practical insights from Oxford Instruments’ Provision 29 programme, including its approach to planning, stakeholder engagement and preparing for the declaration process.
