Jamie Wearn is a Director in Risk Consulting, leading the firm’s UK grant and funding assurance services. He specialises in donor-funded audits, working with public sector, international NGOs, and universities, and is responsible for client delivery, business development, and overseeing complex, multi-country assurance engagements.

Experience 

Jamie is responsible for overall quality, client relationship management and regulatory compliance. 

He brings significant expertise in:

  • Designing and delivering risk‑based assurance approaches tailored to grant conditions, funding agreements and scheme rules.
  • Assessing compliance with procurement, eligibility, value for money and governance requirements.
  • Advising clients on control frameworks, assurance readiness and the remediation of audit findings.
  • Leading teams through complex or contentious audit and assurance matters, including technical consultations and quality reviews.
  • Supporting clients through programme mobilisation, assurance planning and ongoing delivery, ensuring proportionate and efficient assurance.

Jamie has significant experience in leading and delivering independent assurance engagements over grant‑funded programmes, including work performed under ISAE 3000, ISRS 4400 and ISA 800/805 frameworks. His experience spans a wide range of funders and schemes, including EU, Innovate UK, central government departments and international donors.

Jamie has led the development and expansion of our UK grant and funding assurance service line, establishing a nationally recognised capability supporting public sector, higher education, and international NGO clients.

He has directed complex, multi-country donor-funded audit portfolios, delivering robust assurance that strengthened governance, enhanced transparency, and ensured compliance with diverse funder requirements. 

Jamie has driven the implementation of risk-based audit methodologies aligned to international standards, improving audit quality, consistency, and efficiency across engagements. He has also built and led high-performing, geographically dispersed teams, embedding technical expertise and scalable delivery models to support sustained growth.
