Michelle Olckers Partner - Sustainability Assurance and Consulting

Michelle leads our Consulting business in the UK, spanning Management Consulting, Risk Consulting, Technology & Digital Consulting, and Sustainability Services. She brings extensive audit, assurance and leadership experience, supporting organisations to strengthen governance, build confidence in reporting and respond to evolving sustainability requirements.

Experience

Michelle is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years’ experience as a financial auditor. Her audit and assurance experience spans a broad range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, property investment and management, tourism, consumer, real estate, energy & infrastructure, and TMT.

Since joining our UK team, she has performed both limited and reasonable assurance engagements supporting organisations with sustainability assurance, helping them report non-financial information with confidence and prepare for evolving sustainability reporting requirements.

Michelle combines deep technical assurance expertise with a practical understanding of business, governance and transformation. She is particularly experienced in helping organisations strengthen reporting processes, navigate change and build trust with stakeholders through clear, robust assurance.

Work Highlights

Michelle was previously the Co-CEO of Mazars in South Africa and Managing Partner of Mazars in Cape Town from 2010 to 2022. In these roles, she played a significant part in practice management, strategic projects and major initiatives, including business mergers.

She also brings significant leadership and governance experience. Michelle served on the Forvis Mazars Group Governance Council for eight years and has held senior roles including Head of Audit and Managing Partner in South Africa. She currently leads the Group Quality Culture Committee, a Sub-committee of the Group Quality and Risk Management Committee and supports quality across non-financial assurance services in the UK.

Michelle completed an Executive MBA through Forvis Mazars.
