Mohamed Esat Director - Financial Outsourcing

Mo is a Director in the Financial outsourcing team, supporting privately owned businesses across the Midlands and South region. He has a breadth of experience of almost three decades, working with clients in manufacturing, retail, automotive, and F&B.

Mo's passion for technology and AI has led him to support businesses in the tech space, including SaaS and Fintech. Mo has significant experience in supporting scaling businesses and helping them navigate challenges and achieve their ambitions.

He also supports privately owned and private equity-backed businesses in emerging economies such as renewables, cleantech and biotech.

Experience

Mo started his career with a 'Big 4' firm in corporate recovery, assisting with administrative receiverships before qualifying in 2006 with a regional firm working with a mix of audit and non-audit clients. He also has experience in audit, outsourcing and non-audit services, where he operated as an Interim Financial Controller.

As an Audit Manager, Mo oversaw the audit of retail sector clients before moving into the Outsourcing team, where he led the repositioning of non-audit and outsourcing business.

Mo later took the role of Director and Head of Cloud Accounting in a PE-backed firm, leading the move into technology-based solutions to support businesses develop an ecosystem and suite of accounting systems for reporting solutions.

Mo joined Forvis Mazars in 2022 to grow the SME Advisory proposition and lead the 'FD on Demand' services for clients, supporting ambitious growing businesses with timely strategic advice. Initially, Mo led the Birmingham SME team before he joined the Financial outsourcing team, where his responsibility is across the Midlands and South region.

Work highlights

• Since joining the firm, Mo has led many significant projects, including leading the finance team for a large real estate group, providing Interim FD support to a multinational manufacturing business and supporting PE-backed growth businesses with strategic advice to support growth.
