Rehan Zama Manager - Prudential Risk and Regulation

Manager - Prudential Risk and Regulation Rehan Zama

Rehan is a Prudential Risk and Regulation Specialist who helps banks, broker-dealers and fintechs turn regulatory requirements into frameworks that actually support decision-making. His focus spans capital adequacy, ICAAP and ICARA delivery, stress testing and wind-down planning under IFPR/MIFIDPRU, CRR and Basel 3.1.

Experience

Rehan has spent over six years in risk management and prudential roles, building his expertise across the first and second line. He began in-house, holding risk management roles in the MUFG group and later as a Vice President in Treasury at BNY - giving him a practitioner's view of how frameworks operate under real balance-sheet and governance pressure.

He now brings that perspective to Forvis Mazars, where he leads ICAAP and ICARA, and risk transformation engagements. Rehan translates technical requirements into something firms can actually run - helping to produce actionable insights and assessments that survive scrutiny and shape genuine business decisions.

Work highlights

Since joining the firm , Rehan has helped deliver ICARA assessments and risk transformation projects for both FCA and PRA-regulated firms, guiding them from initial scoping through to sign-off. His engagements have helped clients strengthen how risk is understood and managed.

He has also been embedded directly within a UK clearing bank, working in-house to enhance enterprise risk frameworks - bringing an adviser's rigour to a practitioner's environment and bridging the two perspectives that define his career.

Alongside client work, Rehan contributes to the firm's regulatory thought leadership, authoring published articles on IFRP and ICARA practice that help firms move beyond compliance towards frameworks that genuinely embed into day-to-day decision-making.
