Mazars' Audit Reform Manifesto
The manifesto is published as FTSE 350 companies get ready to adopt new regulations resulting from the Competition Commission’s two-year investigation and the EU finalises a package to improve audit quality that is likely to bring wider reform across Europe, including the UK.
Continuing the campaign for audit quality, the manifesto sets out the next steps for ‘real’ reform as the audit market evolves and emphasises the importance of co-operation and communication amongst all stakeholders – investors, audit committees and management, auditors, Government, regulators and professional bodies.
The Audit Reform Manifesto sets out:
- the primary areas where we believe focus is needed;
- suggested areas of emphasis for each of the key stakeholders; and
- Mazars’ thoughts on the key drivers of audit quality.
Throughout 2014, Mazars will engage with stakeholders to promote audit quality, encourage cooperation between market players and champion dynamism and choice in the audit sector.
