Forvis Mazars appoints Jon Leece as Managing Partner for Newcastle Office

Forvis Mazars, a leading global professional services network, has appointed Jon Leece as Office Managing Partner (OMP) in Newcastle.

He replaces Cameron Waddell who was OMP for eight years until his retirement earlier this year. 

Jon has been at the firm for more than a decade, having joined from the Audit Commission in 2012. During this time, he has played a central role in building the firm’s public sector audit offer, helping to establish Forvis Mazars as a leading provider of  external audit services to the UK public sector. As a partner in the Audit Quality Support team, Jon helps to drive and develop the firm’s audit quality agenda. He is also a respected and authoritative voice in the sector, frequently contributing to sector-wide technical panels and working groups.

As OMP, Jon will be responsible for driving forward the firm’s business strategy in Newcastle and managing its 58 strong team. A key focus of this will be continuing to expand the firm’s public sector work to strengthen its position as the leading auditor to the public sector in the region, as well as working with Asam Malik to further develop our the growing Technology and Digital practice located in Newcastle.

As part of plans to expand the offering in the local area and nurture future talent, Forvis Mazars’ Newcastle office recently welcomed 7 early career hires. The intake consists of graduate, school leaver and placement students.

In June this year, Forvis Mazars, the newest top 10 global professional services network was launched. Formed of Mazars, the international audit, tax, and advisory firm, and FORVIS, a top ranked firm in the United States, it operates from Newcastle with the existing team and services.
