Mhairi works as Head of Sustainability, leading our Corporate Sustainability team to execute the strategy relating to our environmental and community aspects, as well as more general sustainability ratings and reporting.
Experience
Mhairi has been our Head of Sustainability since 2023. Before that, she held senior positions in Operations and HR at Forvis Mazars.
As a knowledge-based firm, we see education as a powerful enabler of community empowerment. Mhairi and her team work with charities to ensure our team members can direct their skills and expertise to improve social and economic conditions in our local communities, helping to create transformative opportunities for the next generation.
We are also taking robust actions to reduce our environmental impacts. Having set clear, science-based emissions targets to drive the transition to net zero, Mhairi is responsible for continuing to develop a range of initiatives to reduce our emissions and manage our resources in line with a more circular economy.
Mhairi's varied experience means that she is very knowledgeable and well-connected, further helping to ensure that our sustainability strategy is embedded across the firm.
Mhairi also works with other Forvis Mazars member firms to drive forward our global sustainability ambitions.
Work highlights
In recent years, Forvis Mazars has had its emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. We have also achieved our goal of sending zero waste to landfill across our UK offices and obtained ISO 14001 certification of our Environmental Management System.
Mhairi is particularly proud of her collaboration with IntoUniversity, a charity that supports young people across the UK facing personal or systemic barriers to education and employment. This partnership has involved volunteering, mentoring and fundraising efforts.
Additionally, Mhairi continues to play a key role in publishing the firm's annual sustainability report, highlighting our progress and outlining future priorities. Our most recent sustainability ratings reflect our growth, having been awarded Bronze from EcoVadis and a B from CDP.
